Magyar Mullets November 2009 Newsletter
Dear Family and Friends,
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galations 6:10
November held unexpected opportunities for us to do good to many people. Our home assignment travels took us into Kansas again, through Nebraska to visit friends from Hungary, to a warm welcome in Colorado from family and friends and to the church in which I grew up, on to San Diego and Fullerton, California, back to Missouri, and finally to Guatemala for ten days. At the beginning of the month, we were more often the recipients of good, however, toward the end of November, we were in turn in a position to do much good.
We were well equipped to serve others in Guatemala. Thank you for your financial support and prayers. We served with a wonderfully diverse team of servants, gifted leaders, and a very reputable organization. We helped with 20 home transformations in a Mayan village called Xexuxcap (Sheshushcop): our team funds provided for the pouring of concrete floors and whitewashing interior walls before our arrival. We, in turn, installed efficient indoor cook stoves, outside stoves, and water purification units in each home. God showed us what great works He can do through people with so little. God burdened our hearts to consider again what He requires of us: to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. (Micah 6:8) Our labor impacted the daily lives of 20 families. We also helped with a three day VBS and prayed during an evening showing of the Jesus Film on a dirt main street in one village. The people were deeply grateful to God for His provision as we prayed and encouraged each family that week. Thank you for sending us out to do good in His Name.
Back to Hungary: We have four weeks remaining of our six month home assignment. We’ll be giving a report to our last three supporting churches in the next two weeks while we make our way to Arizona for Christmas celebrations with family. We would appreciate your continued prayers for us as we travel. At this writing, we lack just $800 in regular monthly support. We’ve appreciated several one-time gifts that have improved our overall support situation. We’re eager to see what the Lord holds in store for us as we return to Budapest. Please pray for our hearts to be attuned to God’s purposes for us upon our return. Please pray for God’s provision through His people for our lacking financial support. Please consider coming to the Hungary Summit April 6-12, 2010 in Budapest, Hungary—an exciting event, on location, for all of our supporting churches, individuals, and ministry representatives.
Richest Blessings in Christ,
Brad, for the family
