Brad: I grew up in a Christian family. My oldest brother shared with me the good news of salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I placed my trust in Him when I was five years old. I'm presently working alongside the Hungarian Evangelical Church in Budapest. Kari: I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation when I heard the gospel at the age of 14 at a Young Life camp.

Magyar Mullets January 2010 Newsletter

Dear Family and Friends,

Blessings in Christ Jesus the Lord. Thank you for sending us back to Hungary to labor with other believers in this harvest field. These are exciting times. We are grateful to God for your prayer and financial support. We’ve been back almost five weeks now and most of that has been under continuous snow cover and overcast skies. Despite the weather, we’re seeing large turnouts for the numerous ministries going on in the ministry center. I’ve tried to be careful not to step right back into shoes that others have started wearing in my absence. It was obvious which shoes didn’t fit anyone else yet. Nevertheless, as God has assigned to each person, as God has called each person, so must he live. I will continue to manage the center and Kari will continue to handle the book keeping. The Lord is opening many doors of ministry around us.

We spent New Year’s Eve with our dear friend Zsuzsa and got to know her friend Roger a little. We’ve had occasions to reconnect with many other friends as well and will soon begin a small group again. By far the most dramatic change we’ve seen has been in the Kelenföld Evangelical Church. We’re seeing many new faces each Sunday. I’m so pleased that ministries changed and expanded in our absence. I preached the last Sunday of January and enjoyed watching three young men get baptized. The ministry center is under increasing demand and we expect Danube International Church to move in very soon.

Our teammates, Mark and Jodi Revell are near full support and will arrive in Hungary March 1st. They will be heavily involved in getting the arts ministry/outreach up and running in advance of the subway opening. They will serve alongside Orsi—a full-time Hungarian missionary with our partner association, the Hungarian Evangelical Church. Pictured here is a guy we met through one of the workers on our renovation this past summer. He’s been working on a paint scheme for our building for several months. There are several significant events and projects, for which we’d need your prayers and support in order to pull off and be completed in advance of the Alpha courses and subway opening:

Events: Hungary Summit Banquet April 9th $2500

Art Café Childrens Day May 29th—no cost figures yet

Projects: Outfitting the coffeehouse kitchen (without coffee machine) $15,000.

Painting the outside of the building—no quote yet.

Please contact me for more details or if you should be inclined to invest in these events or projects.

My love be with you all in Christ Jesus,

Brad, for all of us
