Magyar Mullets May 2010 Newsletter
You send us aid again and again when we are in need. We praise God for your labor with us. Kari regularly reviews our donor report and prays for you, our supporters. She wanted me to write her words in this letter: [ Each month as I scroll down our donor support list, I am humbled, (and teary ) at the graciousness of each of our supporters. Thank you so much for the financial sacrifice you make unto the Lord on our behalf and for the people of Hungary. May the Lord bless each of you greatly for your generosity. Thank you, Kari. ]

In the prayer/project/fund raising realm: a surprise announcement
Last month, I put a picture of my dream ministry vehicle in our newsletter. Praise God, one just like it will be mine very soon. Here’s part of the story: A couple Sundays ago just before church, I got an unexpected phone call from the US. The callers said they got our newsletter and wanted to buy a vehicle for us to replace the old one. I told them the used one I have in mind is around $25,000. They said they would send that amount immediately. It was a moment of joy and relief. We’ve started shopping and hope to have it just in time for English camps this summer. Praise God for this timely provision.
Some highlights from this past month were the closing events for our English clubs, an all church effort for the celebration of Children’s Day in our community, and two young ladies getting baptized. English clubs and camp experiences have been one instrument in exposing Hungarians to the gospel and helping them grow in Christ. It was a wonderful day to hear these young ladies testify to their faith in Christ before the whole church. One of my joys is making the ministry center adaptable for many different ministries on any given day—filling and emptying a tank is one of the best assignments. Some days have events going simultaneously so it can get a little challenging.
You can imagine, as the ministry center comes under increasing use, so the expense and labor to keep it up. It is amazing to see how God has brought so many ministries together. On behalf of the Budapest City Team, we send a special thank you to the churches and foundations that have consistently supported some of the costs of operating this ministry center over the years. We are seeing an increasing return on your investment in benefiting so many ministries that fulfill God’s purposes. One of the greatest joys for me since our return in January is the little lady in this picture. She comes twice a week to clean the center and alert me to deficient areas. She is wonderful, reliable, and thorough. She always wants to show me exactly what she worked on and the difference between routine clean and deep cleaning. I am so thankful for her, because I just can’t keep up on that area.
Please pray for the leaders in the churches here. We are hard pressed, but standing firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel. These are trying times for all of us. All four churches in the Hungarian Evangelical Association are strained. We have some steps of faith we want to take. We covet your prayers for tough decisions in the days ahead. We are most grateful to God for His kind appointing of each of us to a task. Pray that we would make the most of every opportunity. It seems Europe is an ever-darkening place in many respects, so we covet your prayers to stay the course.
In Christ,
Brad, for all of us.
