Brad: I grew up in a Christian family. My oldest brother shared with me the good news of salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I placed my trust in Him when I was five years old. I'm presently working alongside the Hungarian Evangelical Church in Budapest. Kari: I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation when I heard the gospel at the age of 14 at a Young Life camp.

Magyar Mullets July 2010 Newsletter

Dear Family and Friends,
I trust this letter finds you in the heat of the summer with reason to praise God. I’m praising God for a young man who was reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ last week. I spoke with his father, not a believer, at parents’ night. This was his son’s third year of attending English camp. He was in church on Sunday and participated in his first communion with brothers and sisters in Christ. What a glorious day!
Summer English camps have wrapped up. Heartfelt thanks to the teams from Kansas City and Grace Community Chapel in St. Peters for helping put together the kids’ camp and to The Orchard in Chicago for help with the teen camp. What a wonder that God purposed to have them serve together with us in bringing the gospel into the lives of Hungarian families. What a glorious month!
Not only was July a month packed with camps and activities, but a group of medical students from England came to play a jazz concert in our coffee house one Saturday morning. The title of this Montage Art Café program was “Dawn of Hope” and was used as an outreach to the market shoppers. We showed the award winning short film by The Doorpost Film Project called “The Butterfly Circus” too. The next art café event will be in September for a week of sacred art. Check out reports from my teammates: http://www.tomiandorsi.blogspot.com/ and http://www.dailygoulash.com/
After 11 years, I had forgotten how refreshing it is to drive home in an air conditioned vehicle in the heat of the summer. Wonderful! With funds left over from our new van purchase, I replaced five fan coils in classrooms in the ministry center. Coolness for the English camps was there. The new van and the old one will be taking a camping trip this week with a bunch of teenagers from Kelenföld and Zsámbok churches. Pray for the counselors and students to grow together in the Lord. We are blessed to be stewards of what God has supplied and sustained through your involvement with the ministry here.
Hungary takes vacation in August, so Kari and I will disappear for five days too. It will be good to rest ourselves and reflect on what God’s kind intentions are for us heading into the fall. Anticipation for what God has in store for us this fall is already occupying my thoughts. Pray for God to add to our numbers daily those who are being saved. Pray for a squad of servant laborers to lead the Alpha course this fall in advance of the subway opening. Pray for God’s supply of labor, funds, and our obedience in following His lead. We are ever dependent on Him.
May the Lord strengthen your resolve to make His name known in all the earth!
With much love,
Brad, for Kari too.
