Special Announcement
Hungary Summit in Manhattan, KS at Faith Evangelical Free Church April 8-10
This is the blog of Brad and Kari Mullet. It serves to keep our partners in the gospel informed of our activities.
Brad: I grew up in a Christian family. My oldest brother shared with me the good news of salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I placed my trust in Him when I was five years old. I'm presently working alongside the Hungarian Evangelical Church in Budapest. Kari: I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation when I heard the gospel at the age of 14 at a Young Life camp.
Dear Family and Friends,
We trust you had a wonderful Christmas celebration! One difficult part of being a cross-cultural missionary is separation from extended family this time of year. Growing up, my parents went to great effort to drive the seven of us to eastern Montana every Christmas. With my own family, we drove many miles to be with family for the celebration. Over the years in Hungary, I’ve given considerable thought to the name given to the babe in the manger—Emmanuel : “God with us”; Jesus: “because he will save his people from their sins.” God didn’t come groveling. He came in glory! A vast heavenly army appeared to announce God’s intentions toward us.
It means everything to belong to God’s family, and we believe: God brought us into being, kindly placed us on this planet, revealed himself to us through the works of His Son, and to those who believe in his name, he gives the right to become His children. We are blessed to be surrounded by family.
Peter and Kelsey returned to Hungary to spend Christmas with us, and Eli,Kelsey’s fiancé , came too. He proposed to Kelsey last week under a large tree filled with hearts at the Christmas market in Vienna, Austria. She said, “Yes!” They’re planning an October 1st wedding outside of Springfield, Missouri. We are thrilled!
Starting at the beginning of December the ministry center was used for The Greatest Christmas Pageant ever production by a home schooling group. It was the best I’ve seen in a long time and it was a great way to start the advent. Kari and I took part in a chorus comprised of people from Danube International Church, Kelenföld Evangelical Church, our English clubs, and the surrounding neighborhood.
We sang together at a couple different Christmas services. The Friday English club has grown as well as our relationships with one another. Thanks to the advertising and inviting efforts of everyone in the ministry center, the Kelenföld Christmas outreach was very well attended. Mark Revell , our teammate, preached and gave opportunity for several people to give cardboard testimonies. They told of Christ’s transforming power in their lives to many people who live without hope. One couple in our church, their marriage destroyed, was on the verge of divorce. These past two years they have been growing again in their love for one another because of Christ’s love for them. During these difficult times they were cared for by many in the church, so their testimony was especially telling and there was much rejoicing that night. God with us.

We’re looking forward to a new year of ministry. Thank you for your investment in God’s purposes with us. Please pray for us in 2011 as our church in Kelenföld seeks to capitalize on its location and relationships to share the news that Jesus came to save his people from their sins. That’s worth celebrating all year long.
God with us indeed,
Brad, for all of us.
