Brad: I grew up in a Christian family. My oldest brother shared with me the good news of salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I placed my trust in Him when I was five years old. I'm presently working alongside the Hungarian Evangelical Church in Budapest. Kari: I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation when I heard the gospel at the age of 14 at a Young Life camp.

Mullets October 2011

 Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings from Hungary—you can tell from the pictures there was an important event in our lives at the beginning of October.  Kelsey and Eli Roark got married and we are blessed.  We had such a great time of celebration thanks to so many dear-to-us friends and family that could attend and help make it all happen.  After the wedding we made a beeline for Arizona to return the car we borrowed from Kari’s folks and catch our flight back to Budapest.
We’ve been back in Hungary now for three Sundays and I got to preach the last two.  October is a pretty busy time of the year. We love our English clubs on Mondays and Fridays, the Hungarian small group that adopted us to lead them on Friday nights, and to see our church in better health.  We sense God’s favor.  Kari is enjoying her new class and ladies Bible study too. Now for the really exciting part: Two wonderful things happened this last week.
There’s a lady who’s been attending our English Clubs on Monday nights now for several years.   She’s been a part of our last two Alpha Courses on Thursday nights.  She grew up Catholic, but never went to church.  Somehow she felt that God was drawing her to learn more about Him.  Monday night after English clubs, she decided to place her trust in Jesus Christ and be reconciled to God.  Tibi, an elder in our church, and I got to pray with her.
Then, in our first small group meeting since we’ve been back, a lady shared that her grand-daughter has decided to attend our church after her experience at our teen English camp this last summer.  Another young man accepted Christ and was in church yesterday.  I’ve known his dad for years—he’s the maintenance guy at the building next to ours.  Last year he asked if his son could attend our English clubs, then he came to camp this last summer, now he’s part of our church’s youth group.   There are several teens attending our church now because of the connection with teen camp.  Our brothers and sisters were not idle while we were gone.  Some plant and some water—God gives the growth. Pray for the families of these new believers.
I’ve had a chance to catch up with friends around the ministry center. I was glad to meet with the condominium board—comprised of all city employees except me—and to see that they are in good health and glad I’m back.  I arranged for our common staircases to be repaired by the subway station superintendent and he in turn invited me for a tour.  (picture of Brigi, Brad, Attila) He said our station will be completed by December and they’ll move him to another one down the line.  It will be beautiful.  It seems our work here is not finished.  Pray that God would change the hearts of these workers with whom I’m in contact before they leave.
Thank you for your partnership with us in the gospel,
Brad and Kari
