Brad: I grew up in a Christian family. My oldest brother shared with me the good news of salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I placed my trust in Him when I was five years old. I'm presently working alongside the Hungarian Evangelical Church in Budapest. Kari: I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation when I heard the gospel at the age of 14 at a Young Life camp.

Magyar Mullets July 2007 Newsletter

Dear Family and Friends,

The news I have to tell you is too exciting to hold till the end of July, so I’m writing July’s letter a week early. It is evident to us that you are praying for us and that God is answering your prayers, so I’m writing to tell you how He has answered and we can praise Him together. We had a couple write and tell us how they prayed for us and after the “amen”, sensed a peace that God would return us to Hungary fully supported. The very next email I got was from a church that was increasing our monthly support. The calls and email have not stopped as we hear recommitments, see new partners on our donor report, and see increases in support from among many faithful supporters. As I write this, we have $583/month left to raise and $4600 left to go on our one-time. You are praying, supporting, and graciously hosting us this home-assignment and for that we are grateful.

I’m thankful we could visit family in Montana including my last-living grandmother, pictured above, who gives generously and prays faithfully despite her failing memory. We’re thankful for the occasions in KS, SD, MT, CO, and MO, and for those who organize them for us to share stories of God’s work in Hungary. (see pic) We’re thankful for the time afforded us in connecting to those He’s involved in our lives through praying, supporting, sending, and supervising us. I’ve also gotten to run some machinery that along with preaching, sharing, visiting, and enjoying the hospitality of believers has been marvelously energizing this home-assignment. We are greatly blessed.

It wouldn’t be a true home-assignment without some physical tune-ups: Praise God, Kari had a fibroid adenoma removed yesterday without a problem, Peter will have his wisdom teeth out in a couple weeks, and I came through a thorough physical exam unscathed…whew. We’re thankful for God’s provision of excellent medical care at the hands of Christian doctors and great insurance coverage with the EFCA.

By the time I write a newsletter for August, we will have left both Whitney and Kelsey at College of the Ozarks. The reality of this goodbye has not fully visited itself upon us, but our consolation is in knowing they both love the Lord and He directs their paths. They will be roommates, so we’re sure there will be no end to the excitement.

Finally, please pray for Géza bácsi and his wife: she finally had to have her leg amputated mid-thigh due to diabetes. She is still in the hospital. KEGY will be taking a collection to help them get a wheel chair. We're eager to return to help them.

May our gracious God continue to richly bless and sustain you all in your obedience to Him as expressed through your involvement with us in His work.

With gratitude,

Brad—for all of us

update from Springfield, MO

Thanks for praying for us and our support to come in on this home assignment. To date we have $3500 of the $8000 one-time support and we have $617 of the $1500 monthly that we need to raise. We still have churches to visit around Missouri and many personal appointments before we have to leave for Arizona and return to Hungary.
Blessings all,
Brad

Magyar Mullets June 2007 Newsletter

Dear Family and Friends,

Greetings from Colorful Colorado—the State in which I grew up. We spent the first half of June in Budapest and the second half on the run to visit and speak with as many supporters as possible about our lives and what God is doing in Hungary.
Tennison Family Reunion

We are blessed in many ways: we have many believers in our immediate and extended families which have supported us for the last eight years, many dear brothers and sisters in Christ, along with bodies of believers in local churches also supporting us. We’re praying for a few more folks that God would appoint to a role in His work in Hungary with us. Much of our home-assignment thus far has been to give a report of our activities to our current financial supporters. I was blessed to preach and share in Tahlequah, OK and in Harrisonville, MO in June as well as meet personally with family and friends. I’ve included a picture of a family reunion on Kari’s side in Branson, MO and a reunion with a supporter we’d not seen in 23 years. We also had occasion to attend the National Leadership Conference of the EFCA in Minneapolis the last week of June. Of course that was a highlight, for the mere surprise of meeting others in attendance that we didn’t know would be there. One day we spent in a meeting with other leaders around Europe discussing a future multiple-use-ministry concept starting with our ministry center in Budapest. It will put concrete steps to realizing the vision God gave us when He plopped us into that building seven years ago. These are exciting times!

One aspect of this day and age is that technology seemingly affords us to be in more than one place at the same time. I say seemingly, because it’s not possible physically. I know this all too well. I see the progress my teammates and church teams are making on the construction in the ministry center back in Budapest,( http://picasweb.google.com/belemmons/MoziRebuild ) and I long to be there; at the same time, I long to be involved in the exciting ministries of each church in which we minister here, then reality sets in when we pile in the car and are disconnected from both. I felt this most acutely the other day when driving the 110 miles between Gillette and Douglas, Wyoming. I hope I never get used to this torn feeling—that I will always long to be with other believers, arms locked for the sake of the gospel, in ministry together wherever the Lord has us.

Finally, a financial update: We have so far $100/month of our needed $1500/month. We have $500 of our $8000 one-time amount. Please pray with us for a full supply of our need in order to return to Hungary in August. Would you consider becoming a monthly supporter for our next two year term? We would be most grateful for your involvement with us in seeing churches multiplied in Hungary.

In Christ alone,

Brad—for the family

Third week down...

Hi Family and Friends,
We've been in the US now for three weeks, presently enjoying the hospitality of supporters in eastern Montana. We celebrated the Fourth of July with family and friends at a hog roast put on by my aunt and uncle and then visited with others about supporting missionaries through the STEER program. If you don't know what that is, and you're curious to know, send me an email. Saturday morning we'll drive to Colorado and be in Calvary Bible EFC for Sunday morning worship. By next Friday we'll be back in Missouri again. That's all for now, God is good to us.
blessings, brad
