Brad: I grew up in a Christian family. My oldest brother shared with me the good news of salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I placed my trust in Him when I was five years old. I'm presently working alongside the Hungarian Evangelical Church in Budapest. Kari: I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation when I heard the gospel at the age of 14 at a Young Life camp.

Dear Family and Friends,
The month of May started with a gathering of Reach Global City Team Leaders and colleagues from cities in Czech Republic, Hungary, and Bosnia with our Area Leader and his wife: John and Judy Westrum. The meetings were a providential pause in the pace. I was able to relax and enjoy the company and content of each day. These are people who for years have been laboring and leading in church planting ministries in central Europe and have been a great encouragement to me. I’m grateful to the Lord for them and our time together.
The work goes on in earnest at the ministry center these days. There are five different crews with different specialties presently at work. There are demolitionists, bricklayers, plumbers, electricians, and drywall guys. I’m working with a crew of my own to connect the new parts with the old building—I regularly call on Attila our office guy, my old buddy Geza, and his long time pal Jozsi. Jozsi is a fixture around the neighborhood: crippled since birth, hardly understandable, but reliable and conscientious. He pulls our dumpster to the street every Thursday in exchange for $1 and a cup of coffee. He brings me the free newspaper and occasionally I hire him for a couple hours for specific tasks. He’s been to a number of our outreach events over the years with his wife—to whom he’s been married 38 years. I’m serving an average of 60 cups of expresso a day and praying this work environment will be like none other they’ve ever experienced. I trust the Lord to open their eyes and ears as we have occasion to share the hope that we have in Christ.
Additionally this past month, we enjoyed the wedding of our colleague Orsi to a guy named Tamás from the city of Vecsés known for its famous pickles. I love telling people that. All of us were able to attend. I realized it was the first wedding I’ve attended where I didn’t have to snake a drain in a suit and tie at the reception following. We’ve attended several graduation parties, various end-of-the-year school events, and even the 50th anniversary celebration of my high school in Vienna. Kari is keeping busy with book keeping, preparation for home-assignment, and Whitney’s wedding. Peter will graduate this Friday, and if we can just make it through June, we’ll be looking forward to just driving in a car all day long on our visits to everyone. Kari and the boys leave Hungary in two weeks. I’ll be staying till the end of June to wrap up renovations. We covet your prayers as the Lord would bring us to your minds.
In His Service,
Brad, for all of us
