Brad: I grew up in a Christian family. My oldest brother shared with me the good news of salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I placed my trust in Him when I was five years old. I'm presently working alongside the Hungarian Evangelical Church in Budapest. Kari: I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation when I heard the gospel at the age of 14 at a Young Life camp.

Magyar Mullets September 07 Summary

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings from our family in Budapest! We got back the end of August and immediately readied ourselves for the packed month of September. The boys got right back into school, worship team, soccer team, and their usual activities. We were amazed at the amount of work accomplished on the new second floor of our ministry center while we were away on home assignment. I’m so thankful for my team and their endurance through the summer. What remained undone at summer’s end was undertaken by eager servants from Crystal Lake, IL, (inset teams) and two men from Springfield. It was all we could do to keep them supplied with materials. They all had a day off to shop when the

building was barricaded due to a subway tunnel collapse nearby. They were not slowed, but got right back to work that evening. At any given time we had eager helpers showing up to prepare for, augment, or clean up after the teams. Praise God these additions provide for more ministry groups using the Ministry Center and sharing the expenses of it, to the benefit of all.

One significant event came at the end of September. The ReachGlobal European City Team Leader Forum met for three days in the newly remodeled conference room. Leaders from the Europe Area came together to be taught, discuss, sharpen, and enlighten one another. It was particularly encouraging for me to sit next to a guy with whom I had much in common. We got to practice coaching one another through various scenarios, ministry situations, and family circumstances—many of which were close to home for both of us. It was greatly encouraging to have a Bible lesson every morning and a prayer time in the evening. This practical equipping event was invaluable. We couldn’t have hosted it in our newly remodeled ministry center without the faithful sacrifice of many laborers in the preceding months. Thank you to all who have had a part in making the vision a reality.

Please pray for several situations: Firstly, one couple with whom we’ve worked very closely for the past eight years is having severe marital problems. Secondly, the lady with whom Kari met every Saturday for the last five years moved to England while we were away this summer. It has been hard for Kari to not have her closest Hungarian friend nearby. Thirdly, we are close to overwhelmed with the amount of work we’re stepping back into, loose-ends, relational issues, and just the adjustment to doing things differently again. Pray for a steadfastness about us and reliance on God.

With much love and appreciation,

Brad, for all of us.

Hi Brad,

Great to see the photos of the Ministry Center!! Praise God that so much was accomplished. This kind of use adds a whole new deminsion to the work you and your team are doing. Your hard and faithful work allows the body to be built up for ministry taking place all throughout Europe. Please give my best to everyone.
