Magyar Mullets July 2009 Newsletter
Dear Friends and Family,
Your love has given us great joy and encouragement. Since both Kari and I arrived in the states, we have traveled from Phoenix, to Albuquerque, to Denver, to eastern Montana for a family reunion, to Wibaux, Montana, to see our 94-year-old Grandma Helen -Mullet, to Rapid City, to Manhattan, Kansas, and finally to Springfield, Missouri, for Whitney’s wedding July 18th. We met with supporters at every stop. The Lord has blessed us with many missionary-sending relatives, so we got to spend a few days in Montana with them and then a few more in Springfield with our sending church (all the other stops were an overnight after a long drive). It was strange to have only Jacob in the car with us this time—although as tall as he is now he takes up most of the back seat. Our other three kids were already slaving away at their summer jobs to earn an education at College of the Ozarks. At this writing Kari is in Missouri and I’m back in Hungary. Jacob caught up with his siblings just before Whitney’s wedding. Peter was blessed to be accepted to the College of the Ozarks summer work program, so he’s working six weeks to pay for his first semester of room and board. We found him working in the college cafeteria washing pots and pans (following in my footsteps). Kelsey is a server at the Keeter Center restaurant and, of course, she served us several meals. She liked to see us because we’re big tippers. We found Whitney working as a tech in the emergency room at Skaggs hospital in Branson. (She has one year left of nursing school to earn a BSN.)
My highest point of the month was getting to say, 'Her mother and I.' A dear-to-us missionary family from Budapest years ago, the Kahres, served us in many ways: Dave officiated; Cindy did the cake; Kristen was a bridesmaid; and Jared kept Jacob busy. God wonderfully looked after us through friends and family and the fine facilities at College of the Ozarks. We are so grateful for the hospitality of meals, wheels, and special deals. Now that I’m back in Hungary, the Lord is using the falling dollar to build my faith. This fall the Ministry Center will be crawling with ministries like never before. We’re eager to share with you what the Lord has brought about in Budapest as a result of your investment in His work:
- Today in church a team of Hungarians announced a big outreach to be held on Saturday, August 15th. They’ll be -using the new coffeehouse terrace: playing music, giving away books, serving -refreshments, praying for and encouraging shoppers at the outdoor market. I guess that space better be finished very quickly—we still need $9,000.
- The Bible School announced two simultaneous classes all day Saturday starting this fall—I guess those spaces better be finished, too (all funds are available).
- Danube International Church is ready to move in at the end of the summer—they need every room in the building on Sunday mornings.
- KEGY needs every room in the building on Sunday afternoons. How can you help us?
In His Service,
Brad, for all of us
